Working with Pracsys, researched best practice measurement tools for valuing creative practice and devised a measurement tool to evaluate the Arts in WA. Consulted braodly with members of WA Arts community and staff of the DCA.

Workshops Rail Heritage Centre, Midland Redevelopment Authority - 2004 - 2008
NBD was contracted on an ongoing basis as Executive Officer for the MRA’s Rail Heritage Steering Committee. The role has involved understanding heritage management principles, writing and assessing tender documentation, appointing consultants and preparing submissions to government.
Business Case for new WA Museum, Dept of Treasury - 2010
Working with Pracsys, consulted broadly with stakeholders of the WA museum community to develop a business case and governance model for a new museum.
Business Plan, Munda Biddi Trail Foundation - 2009
NBD wrote a Five Year Business Plan to guide the operation and financial viability of this organisation. Outcomes are now being implemented including the establishment of a high profile fundraising mass participation cycle tour on the Trail.
Woodside Energy Ltd, Internal Business Operational Review - 2007 - 2008
NBD has conducted numerous feasibility and research projects on behalf of Woodside Energy Limited including assessment of a hotel development and assessment of internal business operations on behalf of the North West Shelf Joint Venture.
Destination Swan Valley, Project Management of New Entity Creation - 2009
NBD worked closely with stakeholders in the Swan Valley food, wine and tourism sectors to assist them in the design and drafting of a Constitution for a new entity to guide promotion of the Swan Valley as a premier food and wine destination.

Midland Redevelopment Authority, Sustainability Action Plan - 2006 - 2008
Prepared the organisation’s annual Sustainability Action Plan, requiring consultation and facilitation.
Shire of Kojonup - 2007 - 2008
NBD advised the Shire of Kojonup on the opportunities to maximise local government expenditure on visitor servicing and tourism. This involved understanding the Associations Incorporation Act, analysing the operational structure of the existing business and advising on governance options for the Kodja Place.
Department of Agriculture and Food, Food Strategy WA - 2007 - 2008
NBD was appointed to research and write the Regional Food Section of the Food Strategy WA which was a cross-government project to promote the development of the food sector in Western Australia. It resulted in development of the brand “Buy West East Best”.
Swan River Trust - 2007 - 2008
NBD researched the establishment of a fundraising Foundation for the Swan River Trust and a community engagement membership program. This involved working with the Parliamentary Counsel’s Office to write Rules to govern the Foundation, market research, product development and extensive understanding of the Associations Incorporation Act. The project resulted in the establishment and launch of the River Guardians membership program.

Visitor Servicing Guide for Local Government, Tourism WA - 2005 - 2006
NBD wrote the comprehensive Visitor Servicing Guide for Local Government. This guide is available for download at www.tourism.wa.gov.au & was distributed and used by local government across WA. It is widely accepted across Australia as a ground-breaking introduction to visitor servicing for Local Government.

Visitor Market Segmentation, WA Museum Reolcation Study, WA Museum - 2005
Researched visitation of cultural centres around the world and analysies visitation to key WA attractions and then devised a market segmentation and expected visitation characteristics and evaluated these against four potential locations for a new museum.
Penguin and Seal Island Cruises
NBD Marketing prepared a successful application to CALM (Now DEC) for an E Class Restricted Licence on behalf of the client. The task required an in depth understanding of the business of tourism in a sustainable context, with consideration of a triple bottom line focus.
Bibbulmun Track Foundation and CALM
NBD wrote a Business Plan to guide the establishment and operations of the Friends of the Bibbulmun Track (now Bibbulmun Track Foundation). This included writing a Business Plan to guide CALM’s management of the Track and a Memorandum of Understanding between CALM and the Friends of the Bibbulmun Track.
